The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor, and Housing annually awards the Innovation Prize of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg (Dr. Rudolf Eberle Prize) for special innovative achievements by medium-sized companies.
The prize recognizes exemplary achievements in the development of new products, processes, and technological services, as well as in the application of modern technologies in products, production, or services.
On November 16th, a prize committee honored the winners at an awards ceremony, taking into account the criteria of technological advancement, outstanding entrepreneurial initiative, and sustainable economic success.
This year, ZECHA Hartmetall-Werkzeugfabrikation GmbH is proud to acknowledge the contributors and the company’s workforce for the first time among the winners of the State Innovation Award 2021 for its evolution in diamond-coated micro-precision tools – a tool line for a wide range of applications for machining the most exacting materials with smooth finishes and the best performance.
Compared to competitors‘ tools, ZECHA’s IGUANA tools offer a 400-times longer service life in copper, a 15-fold longer service life in fiber-reinforced PEEK, and a 10-fold longer service life in lead-free brass. With these values, ZECHA’s IGUANA tools set new global standards for precision tools. The innovative laser processing of the diamond coating has resulted in tools that shine above all through their extreme sharpness, multi-cutter configuration, spiralization, miniaturization, extreme wear resistance, exceptionally long service life, and therefore a very high process reliability. With the IGUANA tools, ZECHA is making an evolutionary step in the market for diamond-coated micro-precision tools.
